Staying thin….my tips
By Mel in Londres
I had a bad case of relapse last week and staying thin seemed an impossible task.
I don’t know if it’s the lack of sugar or the rain, but I was dangerously close to listening to the number one hit when you feel depressed: “All by myself” by Celine Dion. Yeah I know pretty pathetic. I don’t know what triggered that episode of self-pity, but that’s a fact it was there.
Where are those negative thoughts coming from? This is really annoying… My new resolutions are like all my previous love relationships: after the euphoria at the beginning, I start to lose interest or faith and I can literally feel those negative thoughts bringing me down.
Anyone who has done a diet before can testify, in the beginning you have the strength to resist any kind of temptations, the mere thought of eating something not diet friendly sounds ridiculous because the new you won’t allow it, but as time passes, this strength just magically fades away and jesus you could really eat that muffin.
But I’ve decided that this promise I made to myself a few week ago would be something I wouldn’t give up on as quickly as I gave up on my last boyfriend. Now I have to put my boxing gloves on and fight back, so here’s my tip for staying thin. The problem being I have to defend myself against… myself. Mon Dieu… is there a psychiatrist in the room? Because really it’s a job for Freud? That is until I heard about Marisa Peer.
Marisa was named Best British Therapist by Men’s Health magazine and features in Tatler’s Guide to Britain’s 250 Best Doctors. She has spent 25 years working with an extensive client list including royalty, rock stars, actors, professional and Olympic athletes, CEOs and media personalities and has developed her own style that is frequently referred to as life-changing. She is a best-selling author and appears extensively, as an expert, on television and radio including Channel 4′s Supersize vs. Superskinny and ITV’s Celebrity Fit Club (UK and USA). She is the nutritionist for Men’s health magazine and the therapist in the Sunday People’s Heart to Heart column.
Hell yeah, if you want to succeed, you need the best- tip for staying thin.
Marisa has released three audio programmes that you can download – that are like a séance of Hypnosis. You have Hypno Gastric Banding, Hypnotic Weight Control and You Can Be Thin.
I’ve always been very, very, septic regarding hypnosis. For me hypnosis has always reminded me of the Hallmark channel’s cheesy films; where someone struck by amnesia regains their long-lost memory after they’ve been put in a state of semi-consciousness just by looking at a clock for 2 minutes and being guided by the voice of the psychiatrist.
Well in Marisa Peer’s CDs, you’ll definitely find the quiet and relaxation but none of that coma non sense. My favourite CD is the You Can Be Thin one. It’s full of positive thoughts, it’s extremely relaxing (yeah I know I keep on repeating this but I normally can’t relax at all) and while you’re in that state, Marisa repeats several times that not only do you totally deserve to be thin but that it is the state you were born in.
Of course it doesn’t magically work the first time you listen to it, but listen to it before you go to bed, on the bus as you go to work and as many times as you like or need to and I assure you it will work. I have only listened to it five times but I already feel the positive effects. The plan is simple: open your subconscious mind to the fact that if you treat your body with love your body will send that love right back at you.
It is such a simple concept but until now I’ve only punished it for the way it was so this is quite new to me ! Just relax and let Marisa’s unbelievably soothing voice brings you to a positive place where you can picture yourself succeeding in your quest of living la Vie en Rose…
So exit Celine Dion’s “All by myself” and Hello James Brown’s “I feel good!”
